Next Meeting: Thursday, Feb  4th, 7:30 PM at Skipper’s Landing.

We had a great start to our season with all of the lake effect snow especially in the Wolcott and Red Creek areas. With over 50 inches in a couple of days, it took a while to get the snow packed down enough to create a base. Several calls and emails were fielded from riders that could not get through the snow and wanted the groomers to pack it down and create a highway for them. This does not work at all until there is a base to groom to. We have just the opposite at this time with a good base and a lack of new snow. The groomers will stay off the icepack so as not to ruin it during the warm weather and will return back to work when we have new snow and cold weather.

A lot of hours have been put in by a small group that has signed the trails, worked on the groomers and groomed many hours, several times all night. Please be sure to appreciate those that have given so much of their time. They all have jobs and families as well. We could use more volunteers to help with that work and organize some other activities.
